Due to years of walking on lawns, it becomes more and more compact, in order to give the lawn plants air and space again, you should aerate the lawn from time to time.
There are different opinions about the number of holes when aerating the lawn.
In our own experience, the best thing to do is to make holes in the lawn about every 10 cm. These should then be filled with fine quartz sand afterwards so that the lawn plant has air and space again. The holes can then be sown again with lawn seeds if necessary.

The best time for aeration is from April to the end of September when the lawn is growing. The soil should not be too dry, this makes it easier to get the lawn aerator into the ground.
Depending on the soil conditions, the soil is more or less pushed out of the spoons.
